Khoo Swee Chiow

The idea of traversing the Philippine islands on a kayak, could have only come from Singaporean Khoo Swee Chiow. The extreme adventurer added this feat to his growing list of achievements, among them completing the “Explorer Grand Slam,” which is scaling the Seven Summits – the highest mountains in each of the seven continents and the North and South poles.

Khoo is a dreamer who has persevered and worked hard to make his dreams come true. He believes that everyone can do the same if they put their minds to it. Through his books and motivational speaking engagements, he shares stories and challenges from his more than 40 expeditions that demonstrate life lessons such as teamwork, leadership, passion and courage among others.

Across the Philippines in a Kayak, a never-before-done achievement was accomplished in all of 88 days from Gian, Sarangani in the south-east to Pagudpod, Ilocos Norte in the Northern Luzon together with Filipino Buzzy Budlong. This expedition was proudly supported by C.O.R.E. and the Department of Tourism and sponsored by Columbia Sportswear, Recreational Outdoor eXchange.
