October 11, 2014—at Barangay 178, Pasay City, first batch of Primer Group volunteers became part of the Business Leaders Engaged in Social Transformation (BLEST) event. In line with its Volunteerism Program, the Center for Outdoor Recreation and Expedition (C.O.R.E.) have partnered with Center for Community Transformation (CCT) and U!Happy Events to make this event possible.
BLEST aims to open the eyes of people that it is good to help others, and be thankful for the blessings that they have. Most importantly, it aims to make participants aware of the realities of the poor and do something about it. Together with CCT, BLEST is working towards the development in society bound by the love of Jesus Christ. With this, the participants are provided the opportunity to engage Visions of Hope Christian School (VOHCS) children in deeper and in life-changing ways.

The “KaPrimer Volunteers” or “C.O.R.E. movers” who were able to participate came from different Primer Group units such as Business Development and Corporate Communications (BDCC), Administration Department, Human Resources Department (HRD) and Marketing Services Department (MSD). The theme for this session was Larong Pinoy, and C.O.R.E. movers were joined by 38 CCT children, aged 5 to 6. U!Happy Events facilitated different activities enjoyed both by the volunteers and the children. By the end of the program, C.O.R.E. movers gave school supplies and stuffed toys to the kids that brought joy and smile to their faces.
